Decent prices on materials

I was looking for some synthetic materials and dubbing for fly tying and found their bulk discounts. The prices were quite competitive, especially with the multi-buy offer on the dubbing. Shipping wasn't free for my smaller order, but the overall cost was still less than local shops. Worth it for the savings.

My go-to for fishing gear!

Got a new fly rod and some backing line from Troutflies UK and I'm super happy with it! The rod feels great and the line spooled perfectly. Shipping was fast, got here in a week. I'm definitely going to shop here again for more tackle! They have everything!

Good selection, speedy delivery

I ordered a selection of klinkhammers and some barbless flies, plus a new fly box. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. Everything was well-packaged and arrived in good condition. Delivery was quicker than I expected, reaching me in Texas in about 6 days. I didn't need to contact support, so can't comment there, but the product quality seems solid for the price. The flies were tied nicely, and the fly box felt sturdy enough. I appreciated the detailed descriptions on the product pages, helped me pick out exactly what I needed.

Reliable flies, as always

Another order from Troutflies UK, and it was just as good as the last. I got a bunch of gold head nymphs and some dry flies. They always have good quality hand-tied stuff. Delivery took about 5 days to reach me in Arizona, which is decent for international. Never had an issue with them over the years.

Are their 'multi-buy' discounts automatic or do you need a code? Looking at stocking up on some nymphs.

E Emma 2 months ago

AFAIK the multi-buy discounts on flies are usually automatic. Just add them to your basket and watch the price change.

R Rachel 2 months ago

Most of the time they just show up in your cart automatically. No code needed for flies anyway.

How easy are returns if something isn't right? Never ordered from here before.

J James J. 2 months ago

Pretty straightforward. Had to return a rod once, just followed the instructions on their site and it was no hassle.

S Sarah Y. 2 months ago

yeah returns were easy, did it last month for some waders that didn't fit right.

Does Troutflies UK have a new customer discount code? Or should I just sign up for the newsletter?

J Jared 2 months ago

I think they do, or at least they did when I first ordered. Might be worth checking the front page or signing up for the newsletter first.

N Nick Foster 2 months ago

Sign up for the newsletter, that's how I got my first discount. Sometimes they just apply multi-buy stuff automatically though so check your basket.

Is this site legit? Or am I going to end up with some dodgy flies from China?

S Sarah Foster 3 months ago

Totally legit. Been using them for years, never had a problem. They're based in the UK.

T Tara 3 months ago

Nah, they're proper. Good quality flies and gear, not some knock-off stuff.

Hey guys, thinking about getting some flies from here. Are they actually hand-tied or is that just marketing speak?

C Carly R. 2 months ago

Yeah, they are. I've ordered a bunch of times and the quality is always solid. You can tell they're not machine-made.

O Omar 2 months ago

Can confirm, they're hand-tied. Good stuff, never had an issue with them falling apart.

What's the typical delivery time for orders to London? Need some stuff for a trip next weekend.

S Sam A. 2 months ago

usually pretty quick, I get mine in like 2-3 business days down in Kent. Might vary a bit for London though.

C Cody V. 2 months ago

Got an order last month to North London, took about 4 days. If you order early in the week you should be fine for next weekend.

Anyone compared their rods to Orvis? Thinking about getting a new setup but not sure about the quality difference.

E Elena F. 2 months ago

Orvis is top-tier but you pay for it. Troutflies UK has some decent rods for the price, especially their own brand stuff. Depends on your budget really.

N Noor Kim 2 months ago

I've used both. For everyday fishing, Troutflies UK rods are solid and great value. Orvis might have a slight edge on feel, but it's not night and day unless you're a super experienced angler.

Do they sell barbless flies? Trying to fish catch and release mostly.

R Rachel C. 2 months ago

Yep, they do. You can filter for them on their site, I think under 'fly types' or something similar.

D Dana F. 2 months ago

Yes, I always buy barbless from them. They have a good selection.
